Homoeopathy treatment for Respiratory tract infection (cold, cough, fever)
Homoeopathy treatment for Respiratory tract infection (cold, cough, fever)
Case Record No…….. Dated……….

A 27 year old female Miss. YKA had come with complains of fever, difficulty in breathing, dry cough, throat pain and hoarseness since a week. Her complains started with running nose and then dry cough with breathlessness. She also had severe nose block.

Her thirst was reduced, activity was reduced. Also her sleep was reduced. Her cough and throat pain was very bad at night and not allowing her to lie down. Cough was dry without any expectorations.

Her fever was better whenever she had taken allopathic medicine paracetamol.

During examination no active fever was present but her body was warm to touch. Temperature was normal. Her throat was congested. On auscultation of chest, few rhonchi and increased crepitation in left middle and lower lobe was present.

Homoeopathic medicine Ipecacuanha was given in infrequent doses and not repeated whenever patient was better.

Next day her chest was examined it was clear. Her complains were much better. She had no fever. Her breathlessness markedly improved. She got good sleep. Her throat complains were still present. Ipecacuanha was continued for a day more. She was apparently well after that.
She is still under treatment for her other complains.

Note: Ipecac is used in this case as per the indications. In all cases Ipecac cannot be given. Every case has its unique presentation for prescription. Same medicine cannot be used for all the patients suffering from same disease condition. Homoeopathic medicines should be always taken under physician’s guidance only. Self-medications are not safe and prone to side effects.
