Menopausal syndrome Post hysterectomy Psycho somatoform disorder resembling like SLE

Case Record No…….. Dated……….

A 52 year old female, Mrs. SBM had come with the following complains since last 10 years:

Dysuria (painful urination)
Hematuria (blood in urine)
Melena (blood in stool)

Hot flushes all over the body. Herbody felt too much hot that she could not wear sari (Indian ethnic wear). She could not sit on sofa, could not wear footwear.

Recurrent mouth ulcer
Recurrent hemorrhoids (piles) and fissures in anus
Multiple joint complains
Abdomen burning with distension
Sleeplessness

Along with these complains, she had restlessness and anxiety.

Her complains started few months after hysterectomy was done. Her uterus was removed due to large fibroid which caused menorrhagia (menstrual periods with abnormally heavy or prolonged bleeding)and metrorrhagia (uterine bleeding at irregular intervals, particularly between the expected menstrual periods).

She looked tall, dark and average built. She could not tolerate food that are sour especially curd and tamarind which aggravated her complains. She felt thirst for increase quantity of water at frequent intervals.

By nature, she was mild and affectionate person. She had no children of her own. Tried many treatments for infertility but failed. Started believing her sister's daughter has her own daughter and took good care of sister's daughter. Loved her the most. One day patient was verbally abused by her sister's daughter which was unbearable. Patient could neither forgive nor forget. She believed that others took advantage of her childless state and believed to be betrayed.

She had history of spontaneous abortion twice. Her menses before was regular, dark brown in color with severe offensiveness.

She was investigated further. All her basic blood profiles including ANA, Anti DNA, Anti- sm, anti - phospholipid, thyroid, oestrogen, progesterone all were normal.

She was given homoeopathic medicine Lachesis. Nitric acid, Pulsatilla, Ignatia in infrequent doses as per the indications.

Gradually in six months duration she completely recovered.
