Homoeopathy for Insomnia, Hypertension and GERD (Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease)

A 45 years old male Mr. RJA, had come with complaints of heaviness feeling in the head with occasional giddiness with uneasiness feeling on and off since last one and a half years. He was on regular antihypertensive medicines but not under control. His blood pressure was 140/86 mm of Hg.
He also had complaints of sour eructation and offensive flatulence on and off since 4 to 5 years. His stool was regular but satisfactory once in a day. No complaints of abdomen pain. No complaints of retrosternal burning. His complaints would increase after eating oily and sour food items.
Along with all these complaints, he had difficulty in falling asleep. He could not sleep until 3 a.m. in the morning since last one year.
His appetite was reduced. He could not tolerate hunger. He would desire to have sweet and warm food items. He could not tolerate hot weather. His thirst was less comparatively.
He had a past history of recurrent hernia, two times.
By nature, he was calm. He had immense anxiety about health. He was fearful and do not go alone anywhere. Fearful stories would affect him much.

Patient was given homoeopathic medicine Lycopodium in infrequent doses in variable potencies as per the indications. He gradually showed sign of improvement. After one year of treatment his blood pressure was well under control. His sleep was improved. His abdomen complains were also recovered well.

Note: Lycopodium used in this case is as per the indications. In all cases Lycopodium cannot be given. Every case has its unique presentation for prescription. Same medicine cannot be used for all the patients suffering from same disease condition. Homoeopathic medicines should be always taken under physician’s guidance only. Self-medications are not safe and prone to side effects.
